With the evolution of technology, many prefer to do their shopping online. Online shopping is easier, quicker, safer, more convenient and sanitary. Instead of searching all over a store in person for a few items, consumers have the power to get what they want within a few taps on their phones.
Marist Poll reported that 76% of United States adults shop online (Marist College, 2018).
Black Friday shopping, however, is a potent time of the year for marketing and consumerism. Thousands of deals are advertised and millions leave their homes to venture on a journey of going store-to-store to purchase holiday gifts. In 2022, online shopping has dominated the industry and many would prefer to do their holiday shopping from the comfort of their own home.
Zippia reports that "there were 155 million shoppers in the United States on Black Friday in 2021" and "shoppers spent $8.9 billion online during Black Friday" (McMahon, 2022).
